            RAMAYAN  UNKNOW SECRETS

One to know about Lord Rama , Sita , Lakshman , Hanuman ,  Ravana and all of it is considered to be most accurate .

Rama The Seventh Avatar of Vishnu In Hindu Tradition
Vamiki Ramayan one of the greatest hindu epic that imparts and lessons on being an ideal human being . one of the foundations of hindu culture , Ramayana was first passed by Valmiki to the sons of Lord Ram, and has been since passed on to the generations that have come. We have all heard about Ram’s exile of 14 years, and Ravan’s kidnapping of Sita, and Ram’s eventually victory over the Evil with the help of his army of monkeys, but there’s so much more to this legendary epic, and today we bring you some of the most hidden stories from the Ramayana .

Here we go the secrets.........

Lord Rama Had A Sister :

Before Ram and his brothers were born, King Dashratha and his first wife Kaushalya had a daughter named Shanta .

Kaushalya’s elder sister Vershini and her husband Raja Rompad (who was a great friend of Raja Dashratha as they studied in same Ashram) had no offspring.

Once, when Vershini was in Ayodhya, she joked around asking for a child, to which Dashratha promised her she can adopt his daughter, Shanta. As the promise of ‘Raghukul’ had to be kept, Shanta was adopted by Raja Rompad, the king of Angdesh.

One fine day, when Shanta was grown up to be an adult and was now a very beautiful woman, she was in a conversation with Raja Rompad. At this time, a Brahmin came to visit King Rompad requesting help for cultivation during the monsoon. Busy in the conversation with his adopted daughter Shanta, Raja Rompad ignored the Brahmin who left the kingdom. Lord Indra, the God of rains, was offended because a Brahmin devotee of his was insulted. Lord Indra decided to punish Rompad and hence, it did not rain in the coming monsoon .

To get free from this curse, Raja Rompad called a Rishi, Rishi Rishyasringa, to perform a Yagna asking the Lords for rains, which succeeded .

To pay honour to the Rishi, King Dashratha and King Rompad decided to marry-off Shanta to Rishyasringa .

As Dahsratha had no heir yet, he then called Rishyasringa to perform a Yagna for him too, after which the God of Fire gave a dessert to Dashratha for his wives to consume, eating which: Ram and his brothers were born .

Lakshmana Did Not Sleep 14 years Exile :

Urmila, the wife of Laxman, was ready to accompany him when he was leaving for exile with Ram, but he forced her to stay home .

When in forest, Laxman wanted to protect Ram and Sita day and night and wanted to defeat sleep .

Laxman made a special room for them in a hut built by in panchavati so that they could sleep properly , even then rama did not tell him to do anything like that .

He thus approached the Goddess of Sleep – Nindra – and asked her to overlook him for the next 14 years .

Nindra commanded that someone else must sleep on his behalf to create balance, and Laxman asked her to consider his wife Urmila for this.

Nindra went to the Ayodhya Palace and asked Urmaila if she would take up Laxman’s sleep, which she gladly did .

Urmila slept for 14 years, till the day of Ram’s coronation, and had it not been for her, Laxman would never have been able to slay Meghnath as Megnath was granted a boon that he could only be killed by Gudakesh: the one who defeated sleep .

Sita As Daughter Of  Ravana :

The Story of Sita Born as Daughter of Ravan .

There is an interesting story mentioned in some Hindu books and folk  tales that mentions Sita as the daughter of Ravana , Legend has it that  Vedavati, a pious woman , wanted to marry Srihari Vishnu ,To marry Vishnu, she gave up worldly life and became a hermit and built an ashram  on a riverbank .

Once while Vedavati was meditating on the riverbank, Ravana, the demon  king, happened to see her. He was enamored by her beauty and tried to  violate her .

To escape from Ravan she jumped into a fire pit created for  yajna.

Before dying she cursed Ravan that in her next birth she will be  responsible for his death .

In her next birth, Vedavati was born as  Ravana’s daughter. Soon after she was born, a voice from the sky warned  that the baby will be responsible for her father’s death .

To save his  life, Ravana threw the little girl child into the sea , the child fell on  the lap of sea-goddess Varuni. Goddess Varuni took the girl child to  the shores and gave her to earth-goddess Pirthvi.

Goddess Prithvi then  gave her to King Janaka. As per Ramayana, Sita was found by King Janaka  while ploughing a fiel

Know the Teachings that Ravana gave to Laxman on his deathbed

When the demon king Ravana was attacked by Lord Rama and was nearing his death, Rama asked his brother Lakshman to go to him and learn something which no other person except an erudite Brahmin like Ravana could ever teach him.

The story goes that after shooting the fatal arrow on the battlefield of Lanka, Ram told his brother, Lakshman, “Go to Ravana quickly before he dies and request him to share whatever knowledge he can. A brute he may be, but he is also a great scholar”.

At this Ravana said that if you have come to me as a student then you must sit at my feet because teachers must be respected and you want to learn lessons.

Lakshman went to Ravana and this time he stood near his feet. Ravana seeing Lakshman standing near his feet told him secrets that would make anyone’s life successful.

Ravana said,  the most important lesson of life is that you must defer the bad action as much as you can and you must do good action without any delay and as much early as you can. If you follow this rule, you can save not only yourself but many other people from being damaged.

Ravana also told Lakshman about politics and statesmanship:

1- Do not be the enemy of your charioteer, your gatekeeper, your cook and your brother, they can harm you anytime.

2- Do not think you are always a winner, even if you are winning all the time.

3- Always trust the minister, who criticises you.

4-Never think your enemy is small or powerless, like I thought about Hanuman

5- Never think you can outsmart the stars, they will bring you what you are destined to

6- Either love or hate God, but both should be immense and strong.

7- A king who is eager to win glory must suppress greed as soon as it lifts its head.

8- A king must welcome the smallest chance to do good to others, without the slightest procrastination.

His ten heads were
 Kama (lust)
Krodha (anger)
Moha (delusion)
Lobha (greed)
 Mada (pride)
Maatsyasya (envy)
 Manas (mind)
 Buddhi (intellect)
Chitta (will) and Ahamkara (the ego) -all these ten constitute the ten heads.

Ravana is of all the ten qualities. Such is the wisdom of Ravana, no wonder Ram asked Laxman to learn from him.

Ravana said, he had learnt these lessons through bitter experience. Greed arises from attachment to the senses and catering to them. Put them in their proper place; they are windows for knowledge, not channels of contamination .

Hanuman Goes To Central America and Brazil

Ramayana’s Kishkinda Kanda descibes about Trident of Peru, South America etc and Yuddha Kanda (War Episode) describes about Hanuman travelling to Paatala Loka (Central America and Brazil, which are on other side of India in globe) and meeting his son Makaradhwaja, who resembles him.

After killing the King of Paatala, Hanuman makes his son Makaradhwaja as ruler of that kingdom and he is being worshipped as God since then.

  1. Ramayana, a replica of Vedas
    S. VARADARAJAN
There are several versions of the Sri Ramayana, one of the two greatest epics. Following Sri Valmiki Ramayana several editions have been published in various languages, besides scores of commentaries written across centuries. Late. Gunturu Seshendra Sharma, scholar poet of 20th Century unearthed secrets of the Ramayana through his popular Telugu book “Shodasi”.
The novelty of nomenclature Shodasi , called Sri Vidya is reflected , in the 16th Chapter . Sharma’s intellectual depth comes forth in analyzing Sundara Kanda specially through Kundalini Yoga . The author highlights hidden truth in Valmiki’s thought that is similar to Vedas and says that Trijata’s dream in Sundara Kanda reflects Gayatri Mantra of 32 Syllabi in 4 lines. Sharma pays rich encomiums in the description of Lanka surrounded by three impregnable borders. He compares these three borders with Trikuta viz... Shakti , Kaamaraaja , Vagbhava Kutas with those of Sri Vidya in Kundalini . A staunch believer of Vedas, the author feels that Ramayana is a replica of Vedas and oriented towards the character of Indra . He concludes that in Ramayana the mentioning of the supreme God is Indra and not Vishnu, as the presiding deity of valour in Vedas. Utterances of the word Vishnu were considered to be imaginary overstatements in the author’s view.
This book lends a new perspective to the Ramayana by adding the dimension of Kundalini Yoga .
The foreword by Vishwanatha Satyanarayana adds credibility to the book. The current work is an English translation of the original by Gurujada Suryanarayana Murthy , a scientist by profession . His proficiency in the subject is evident in the translation throughout that doesn’t swerve from the original’s purport.

Valmiki Ramayana – Greatest Medicine for Mankind

The story of Ramayana is prescribed as textbook for students. Sita and Rama are worshiped as prime couple. No need to mention about reciting it. Whether Valmiki was satisfied with simple narration of the story? Seshendra Sharma denies it.

He analyzed it mentioning that to understand the inner meanings of Valmiki Ramayana, the scientific knowledge is essential.

The underlying secret of the sage’s mind will be known through the knowledge of science.

It is the firm opinion of Seshendra that the argument that “the sciences are for scholars only” is a conspiracy hatched by Selfish scholars and lazy uneducated persons.

Seshendra who has democratic ideology and conviction on science and literature informs the public about the secrets of Ramayana expounded by Valmiki. He explains that Valmiki dedicated ambrosia (The Greatest Medicine) named “Kundalini Yoga” to the mankind. The poetry in the metre of Anushtup Sloka is the honey coating to the medicine. It was explained with great introspection and exemplary scholarship. He concludes that the Ramayana is older than the Maha Bharatha and it is another form of Veda. Valmiki introduced the system of meditation in Ramayana. The Introspection and research bent of mind of Seshendra are spread over in the book in two streams. The exuberant fragrance of scholarship is experienced throughout the book.

The present generation can understand the scholarship of Seshendra in Vedas and Mantra Sastra. Seshendra is a poet who has composed unique Ruthu Ghosha (Cry of the Seasons: Metrical Poetry) and revolutionary free verse –Mande Suryudu (The Burning Sun).
